I'm watching ever so close to see when the sunflowers might burst open. Sunflowers are one of my favourite flowers. . Wishfully, I planted heaps, with grand plans of saving the seeds for eating. However I don't seem to have the knack for growing sunflowers
One thing with gardening, you can always try again next year.

I finally got to the shops to get this years journal - as a lover of colour I found the perfect journal for me.
Abbey's papers from Massey have arrived - so of course she needed supplies.
Being red, it just might make her study faster.
After many months of deciding which way I was going to take my search further I ended up updating to 2012 Family Tree Maker. And I LOVE it. The programme allows for many different relationships than just married. It is really easy to enter adoption and the best part is Tree Synch which allows you to share your trees with other family members. I'm currently working with three other ladies on the net and between the three of us we are digging through family photos and memories of the line to share with each other. To me this is the part I enjoy about genealogy - the sharing of resources and information.
It is a huge buzz to be able to solve a branch that I've been stuck on for years.
I've taken my research into the big girl league and going back verifying and proving and recording citation.
I've got some amazing people in the local genealogy group who have tucked me under their wing and helping me go back through my research over the years and verify my facts. It's all rather addictive really.
I've 781 people in the trees to date and work on six main trees.

Baxter checking out the nut supplies. We had a lot of rain yesterday and a stormy evening of thunder and lightening. Brent and I felt a bit sorry for him and ventured out in the storm to check he was ok - He was fine purring away- very relaxed. Today he gets more company - the four boys will be back in town.

Yes Leanne, we had the thunder and lightning too, and Poppy was out there, sitting on the BBQ cover, under the eaves, surveying it all.You will be so happy with the genealogy software, and helping hands will all make it such a joy to research. RAIN, how I enjoy it so much this week!! Cheers from Jean
ReplyDeleteMorning Jean - brrrrr what a cold snap, but the rain very much welcome. It is wonderful when you find people who are happy to share their genealogy research and now with the programme people who don;t search can also see the tree and if they have a photo etc can also add to the tree. Win win me say.

It was a pretty wild night. I pulled out the emergency torch just in case. Miss Pops stayed curled up on the bed which was good. Her eyes look better today, and she is still pretty happy so I know she feels good.
ReplyDeleteA bit chilly tonight though. Keep warm.
